Istvan Sandorfi
Since I heard about Istvan Sandorfi, i have wanted to share his work. He’s a Hungarian painter who died last year in December.
Here on my blog you can find a video about his last Hungarian exhibition. I really rate his work, and it’s such a shame that he is not with us anymore… BUT there’s the usual consolation that his art will be his legacy, and I’m sure he’ll be remembered by it.

I knew Istvan back in the 80’s and used to visit him when I was in Paris. It was always convenient because of his 6 day 28 hour weeks. No matter what time it was, you could just call him and if he was up, he’d say “Come by”. From the US I could call any time of day and if it was his day time, you could have a chat.
When I went over, we’d have a cognac and discuss whatever came up. He was always interesting and always had something impactful to say.
I’ve just spent some time on the net looking at different sites featuring some aspect of him and it brought back some memories.
